The doorway into 2012
The two eclipses at the end of the year are the herald of change and represent the doorway into 2012.

The partial solar eclipse on November 25th at 2 Sagittarius forces the truth out into the open and indicates the need to be true to oneself. The New Moon connects to Uranus, signifying change, disruption and growth for those willing to move out of their discomfort zone and surf the waves. Five planets in the early degrees of their signs also put an emphasis on the new. There is the opportunity to move into unexplored territory or scuttle back into the tried, tested and stale. The square to Mars and Chiron could bring up challenge, conflict and pain, so it may not feel like an easy passage. Mercury turns retrograde in Sagittarius just before this eclipse, urging inwardness and reflection on how we can grow and expand.

The total lunar eclipse on December 10th at 18 Gemini brings a heightened emotional state that may fragment anything stuck or stagnant. Interestingly Uranus turns direct just seven hours before the full Moon, bringing an extra strong air of unpredictability and uncertainty. Expect the unexpected!

Colour and Astrology
Colour and astrology may seem to have no obvious connection, but in fact combining these ancient systems creates a more holistic approach to healing. Astrology provides the insight that is needed to understand the dynamics of issues or patterns of behaviour. The danger with astrology is getting stuck with the energies of the birth chart and feeling these indicate patterns we simply can't move beyond, but colour empowers us with a tool for supporting ourselves through transformation.

I look at the birth chart as a picture on a packet of seeds that indicates the potential of what we can blossom into, although this growth can become stunted if we don't have the tools to work on personal issues and challenges.

The zodiac signs have an affinity with particular colours and being aware of this can deepen our understanding of both colour and astrology. I work with a system of colour healing called Colour Mirrors, which has planetary bottles that also connect to numerology. Often a person with a particular sign strong in their chart will be drawn to the `ruling planet' of this sign, for example someone with the Sun in Pisces may be drawn to deep turquoise bottle 7 Neptune. These bottles are energy medicines and can be used on the body or in the bath and create shifts that may be quite subtle or powerful.

The Colour Mirrors system has Elemental spritzers that connect with the elements in our birth chart and can help support any weaknesses. The signs of the zodiac are divided into four elements: fire, earth, air and water. Fire is about courage, initiative, inspiration and vision; earth is about practicality, common sense and being grounded; air is about logic, communication, detachment and justice; water is about connecting to feelings, flow and sensitivity.

Working with the Fire spritzer may help someone to feel the fear and do it anyway. Someone with a lack of water may be disconnected or overwhelmed by feelings and working with the Water spritzer may help to bring this into balance.

This work brings astrology into the realm of vibrational healing and we can work with these energy medicines to bring in physical, emotional, mental or spiritual shifts. The starting point is letting the body feel it is safe to change and then we can truly begin to live Heaven on Earth.
